Hello, my name is Javier Rios but everyone calls me Javie. I have a passion for design and the internet, so I cannot think of anything else more fun to do for a living then designing for the web. Having no formal training, I am constantly motivated in perfecting my skills and changing with the ways of the fast web world.
I currently work at Howard Community College as a Sports Technician. There I manage information that goes on the College Athletics and Fitness Center Department website. I often lead creative teams in developing visual aides and interactive programs and create print and web graphics as needed for events and sponsors. While managing and cordinating events such as the 10th National Outdoor Track and Field Championships, I help bring in sponsorship revenue through multiple venues.
Prior to becoming a Sports Technician, I was recipient of the Lion's Club Scholarship from 2005-2007, awarded to me in light of winning the Belmont Web Design Project in 2005. As a result, I became web master for the Athletic Department and a Concept Web Designer for the Entreprenuer program at Howard Community College. As a part of this job, I worked with individuals who ranged in skill and knowledgeability of interactive design.
I love to work and play with others. Sometimes you can find me on VIRB. I let people know what I am doing by twittering sweet, sweet sorrows in their ear. I love snapping random shots, i post them on flickr. Let's meet up sometime, you can see where i will be at my upcoming. If your really interested in my past work experiance let link up at Linked In.
